Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Health Information, the Senior Finance Analyst will be an integral member of a fast paced analytical team performing a range of professional accounting activities including analysis and reporting of hospital financial and statistical results.
The incumbent will work autonomously to analyze financial results and work with all levels of the Management Team to interpret and present the financial impact of operational decisions; identify areas of process improvement; utilize benchmarking analysis; provide evidence-based information and support the management team with the achievement of financial results.
The Senior Finance Analyst will co-ordinate and process month and year-end activities; assist in the development and preparation of the annual budget; conduct internal and external audit requirements, while allowing for standardization and efficiency to maintain appropriate internal controls.
The Senior Finance Analyst will work collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance business and operational processes that will achieve efficiencies to ensure maximization of the healthcare funding model.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting/Finance, as well as CPA designation is required;
- Minimum of five (5) years of financial/accounting work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting;
- Must be highly self-directed/motivated and able to make decisions;
- Experience, understanding and knowledge of clinical areas within a hospital, preferred;
- Experience with MOHLTC/Ontario Health (OH) reporting, OHRS (Ontario Health Reporting Standards) preferred;
- Sound understanding of internal controls and financial work processes;
- Experience with implementing hospital-wide annual budget process;
- Demonstrated ability to assist non-Financial Leaders in understanding operating results, financial advice and operational guidance and reporting;
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills;
- Logical and efficient, with a keen attention to detail;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks through highly developed time management skills;
- Team player possessing high integrity, confidence and maturity with a proven ability to initiate and develop relationships with partners and other stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis as per the STEGH Attendance at Work Policy;
- Demonstrates a fit with STEGH values
Successful candidates must provide evidence of having received a full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada, and having received the final dose 14 days before entering STEGH.
