THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE THAT YOU’LL NEED
- Substantial and demonstrated PQE essential
- A high degree of Retail experience gained in Commercial Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis roles would be advantageous
- Experience of co-ordinating cross-Finance activities such as Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting, with the ability to forward plan accordingly
- High degree of systems literacy with the ability to translate data into insightful analysis
- High degree of presentation skills as regards financial performance and analysis
- Strong proven analytical skills with the ability to identify key business issues and provide appropriate analysis to facilitate business debate
- The ability to communicate effectively across Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders, as well as senior management to build and maintain strong relationships
- A desire to continually improve outputs and process and someone who sets high standards for themselves and others
- Experience of managing and leading the development of others

Responsibilities:
OUR ROLE
As Senior Finance Manager – FP&A and Costs, you’ll provide high quality insight to support the business in making the right long-term decisions across a number of areas. You’ll have ownership of FP&A for the business, playing a pivotal role in the Annual 3 Year Plan and Budgeting process, building relationships with a range of Commercial and Finance leaders across the business and ensuring that there is a high-quality output to allow the board to make the right choices for the future of the business.
You will become an expert in all the key drivers of business performance and be able to proactively produce insightful analysis to ensure the right commercial outcomes for the business. You will also be responsible for the development of the business reporting tools (working closely with the Finance Systems Manager) and become the go-to person in Commercial Finance for this area.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Support the Annual 3 Year Plan and Budgeting process, co-ordinating the timetable and process, inputs from across Finance, Directorate reviews and producing value added outputs for Board review
- Lead the production of the daily and weekly trading reports and validate the integrity and accuracy of data being reported to the broader business
- Broader responsibility for all reporting and analysis of company-wide performance on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis focusing on the key events and drivers within the organisation, including preparation and presentation of consolidated decks to Senior management to enable them to make wider business decisions
- Draw conclusions on actual financial performance versus budget, the drivers for these variances and recommendations/updates to forecast for the future
- Ownership of the Commercial Finance reporting tools, including team training and development of these tools, ensuring these continue to be fit for purpose and optimising system capabilities
- Manage the head office cost base, providing the appropriate levels of controls and stakeholder support throughout the year, liaising with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure they understand the costs for their areas
