JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Finance Officer is tasked with providing technical leadership and guidance on financial management within the organization, focusing on programs, processes, and systems administered by the Finance department. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure alignment with business priorities and delivering accurate and reliable advice to meet customer expectations and service delivery standards..
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide expert guidance on accounting standards, policies, and legislation relevant to the department’s stakeholders. Collaborate with other teams, ensuring alignment on business tasks, timelines, and outcomes, while maintaining work within budget and service delivery standards.
- Work with team members to develop innovative policies, programs, and documentation for effective financial management. This includes developing policies and procedures, implementation guides, and reporting procedures.
- Monitor, review, and analyze financial systems and databases to generate accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders, management, and agencies.
- Access financial systems to address operational issues and maintain corporate database integrity.
- Advocate for the use of new technology applications and systems to enhance service delivery. Foster sustainable customer relationships and collaborate with colleagues to implement finance-related business reforms.
- Contribute to the development of business plans and implementation strategies to improve specialist advice and service delivery. Participate in planning meetings and working parties to align ideas with business objectives.
- Provide regular updates to supervisors on business targets and alert management to potential business-critical matters. Identify, assess, and propose risk mitigation strategies.
