KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in accounting preferably in financial services
- Tertiary qualification in Tax/Law/Commerce/Economics/Finance or equivalent
- CA / CPA Qualified
- Experience producing financial statements and annual reports including P&L, Balance sheet, Cashflow, BAS and investor/results presentations.
- Experienced in month end reporting cycle including large volume reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
- Strong Excel skills including modelling and data visualization capabilities
- Comfortable working with stakeholders across all levels both internally and externally
- Strong attention to detail
- Desire and willingness to strive to achieve optimal results.
- A flexible and agile approach and an ability to work in a fast-moving and changing environment

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We have an exciting position available for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our HUB24 Group Finance team within a 15 month fixed term contract.
This Senior Financial Accountant position, specialises in year-end statutory reporting and month-end reporting and is responsible for meticulously compiling and analysing financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to accounting standards. Additionally the role will liaise with a number of key stakeholders both internally and externally including the Finance team, Business Unit Heads, Operations, Technology, Sales and External Auditors.
The role is based in Sydney.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial activities are completed and reconciled.
- Assist on the coordination of the statutory accounts for ASX and ASIC.
- Assist with the Annual Financial statements’ preparation for subsidiaries, regulatory lodgements (FS70/FS71) and liaise with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports which are appropriate for the end user.
- Ensure compliance with AFSL requirements, manage monthly calculations, and prepare related reports.
- Prepare month balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare month, quarterly and annual BAS and other regularity obligation submissions. Prepare of tax return calculations and liaise with tax agents.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of business improvement projects.
- Drive continuous improvement within the monthly reporting processes and systems, helping establish best practice processes and standards.
- Assist in the provision of technical accounting guidance to the group on unique or complex accounting transactions.
- Maintain and update relevant systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of data sets and controls.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and legislative practices.
