We have a great opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated accounting professional to join our Financial Control team in the role of Senior Financial Accountant.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting for GenesisCare’s operations in Western Australia and Queensland. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the achievement of business objectives.
Your ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be critical to your success.
This is a full-time role based in Alexandria with Flexible work arrangements – work from home.

More specifically, you will:

  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements for GenesisCare’s Western Australia and Queensland practices.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in the completion of comprehensive analytical reviews across key P&L/balance sheet items and proactively manage resolution of queries.
  • Take ownership of the completion of the month-end cycle within clearly defined timelines.
  • Calculate and manage Doctor remuneration in line with their respective contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and company policies.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate external audits (or agreed upon procedures), liaise with auditors, and address audit queries.
  • Contribute to the success of GC’s financial risk management strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy and long-term planning. Identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
  • Be a key stakeholder in maintaining and testing GenesisCare’s financial systems and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency in financial operations.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and ensure the organisation’s compliance with relevant laws and reporting requirements.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience in financial accounting roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree or experience considered equivalent.
  • CA or CPA qualifications (or international equivalent).
  • Experience with SAP not mandatory but would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work on technical tasks autonomously.
  • Experience in a senior financial accounting role/function with ownership of monthly close accounting process.
  • Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax Law.
  • A proven track record in influencing important stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to and management of change and organisational transformation in high growth corporate environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbal and written.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • Ability to organise and control disparate Finance and Accounting systems.
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills.
