ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone:

  • With 3+ years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Tertiary Degree in Accounting and CA or CPA qualified
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Engaging, outstanding communication skills, with ability to build rapport with customers to drive outcomes
  • Deadline-oriented and strong time management skills
  • Ability to work in a hyper growth environment, with strong attention to detail, and problem-solve
  • Microsoft Business Central and ActionStep experience an advantage
  • Staff management experience an advantage

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Financial Accountant, to work closely with the finance team delivering month end close and financial reporting for the Group. As a Senior Financial Accountant you will be key to ensuring the integrity of the financials and delivering all tax compliance requirements.
Day to day responsibilities include:

Financial Accounting – 85%

  • Managing month end close process – processing of accruals (eg. WIP, salaries, leave liabilities, ECL), review and analysis of results, providing commentary on variances to budget.
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Year end – assistance with preparation of general purpose financial statements including calculations for Lease Accounting, Tax Effect Accounting and LSL.
  • Liaising with external Auditors and Tax specialists
  • Treasury management – monitoring cash flows and liaising with banks.
  • Providing guidance to offshore finance transactions team when necessary in respect of reconciliations, general journals, billing and general accounting tasks.
  • Responding to financial queries from internal clients eg. HQ, Partners and other business heads
  • Practice management and finance systems superuser
  • Finance projects eg. implementation of Expense Management System
  • Other ad hoc projects in a fast-paced, hyper growth environment

Tax – 15%

  • Preparation of monthly BAS and IAS.
  • GST compliance.
  • Income tax and FBT return preparation.
  • Responding to tax queries from internal clients and ATO
