They are seeking a diligent Senior Financial Accountant to be responsible for supporting decision-making and overseeing financial reporting.

As a Senior Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a small team in managing all accounting obligations
  • Support the Finance Manager in delivering all accounting obligations, whilst supporting both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all accounting policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements are adhered to
  • Creation and review of periodic financial statements and reports
  • Ensure key provisions are prepared, reviewed and monitored
  • Prepare and co-ordinate Wesfarmers group reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Identify risks and opportunities for the business in a timely manner to enable mitigation of identified risks

The successful candidate will be:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity, either working in a corporate environment or within an accounting firm
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
  • Experience using Financial Systems (i.e. SAP), including accounting and general ledger experience
  • A proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation, including the confidence to present and exert influence as needed
  • Led a team to success and genuinely enjoy leading and coaching teams
  • Ability to drive improvements, meet multiple competing deadlines and ensure high attention to detail
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business, with accounting or finance majors.
  • Hold an ICAA or CPA qualification
