POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate journal entries for month-end closing, as well as balance sheet account reconciliations, including but not limited to reconciliations for banks, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, inventory, capital assets, and accrued liabilities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • In the process of obtaining a CPA license is a plus.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • 3 years of accounting experience, focusing on month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

COMPÉTENCES ET QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Un baccalauréat en comptabilité, CPA ou une certification professionnelle pertinente est un atout.
  • En démarche d’obtention d’une licence CPA est un atout.
  • Expérience SAP est un aout.
  • 3 années d’expérience en comptabilité, axées sur la clôture mensuelle et les rapports financiers.
  • Connaissance des principes comptables, de l’information financière et de la conformité.
  • Maîtrise des logiciels comptables et des systèmes ERP.
  • Excellentes compétences analytiques, de communication et de résolution de problèmes.
  • Souci du détail avec un engagement envers l’exactitude et le respect des délais.
  • Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et collaborative dans un environnement d’équipe.

Responsibilities:

Month-end Closing:

  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for month-end closing.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including but not limited to reconciliations for banks, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, inventory, capital assets, and accrued liabilities.
  • Maintain and track Right-of-Use assets and lease schedules in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory ledger, reconciliations, scheduling and performance of inventory counts, and communication of inventory count results.

Financial Reporting:

  • Compile and prepare monthly internal financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial results, highlighting key trends and variances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the monthly financial reporting.

Tax and Audit:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audits.
  • Responsible for filing sales tax returns
  • Support the Finance Manager in implementing and maintaining internal controls.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
