THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a talented Finance Analyst to join our Boeing Defence Australia Finance team. A hybrid role consisting of both project-based management accounting and cost control management, this position will support our Joint Systems Business Unit working collaboratively with programs delivering cutting edge technology to our Australian Defence Force. The role will ideally be based in Brisbane, however offers the opportunity for flexible working arrangements including ability to perform some days remotely from home and flexible working hours. This role offers the opportunity to challenge yourself in a fast paced environment with plenty of changes that keep the work interesting and the opportunity for exposure to the broader Boeing enterprise.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in finance, business or commerce; or equivalent experience in the workforce
- Relevant experience in a project accounting, management accounting or cost control role
- Experience with cost forecasting, variance reporting and estimates at completion
- Experience managing financial baseline changes
- Experience with Open Plan Professional or Deltek COBRA advantageous
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Development of cost forecasts, weekly financial reporting and quarterly Estimate at Completion.
- Month end close including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and forecasting.
- Analysis of Cost performance and recommendations on impacts & actions
- Implementation of Baseline changes into the financial system (Deltek Cobra)
- Variance reporting on Cost and Schedule performance
- Pricing of minor contract change proposals
- Review of financial data with program and leadership stakeholders
- Stakeholder management including liaising with Control Account managers, finance team and Program Leadership
- Mentoring of junior cost analysts in the team
