BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with exceptional analytic skills to join the Sector Finance team. This role provides financial decision support to stakeholders focused on minimizing risk and maximizing financial performance and execution.
This role can be conducted in a full-time remote capacity, however, the preference is for this individual to reside at least within a few hours’ drive of one of our BAE Systems offices.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related degree / equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge & experience with creating Microsoft PowerBI reports and visuals (will consider proficiency in other data visualization tools)
  • Demonstrable knowledge & experience in the use of Alteryx (will consider proficiency in other data conditioning tools)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Familiarity with Hyperion
  • General knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Knowledge of SQL, Dataiku, Tableau
  • Knowledge of/and experience with financial data, metrics, systems, applications and processes

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization as a fully integrated team member and assist in meeting major reporting objectives, including Quarterly Reviews, Long Range Planning, Annual Operating Plan, Month-end reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Expand FP&A analytics and metrics automation to align with overall Electronic Systems Finance analytics vision. This includes managing projects driven by business needs and providing training, education and support to the organization in an effort to expand data analytics acumen.
  • Increase visibility and access to data by developing reports and tools that save financial analyst time. This includes taking on the reporting of current FP&A Dashboards and metrics, as well as determining ways to automate existing processes and reports of other team members.
  • Interface with all levels within FP&A to support ad hoc data requests, making those requests easily repeatable as required.
  • Lead projects to develop tools at the Sector level and collaborate with groups within finance to assist them in developing tools for their use and ownership
  • Utilizing strong communication skills, act as a liaison between FP&A, Business Area personnel, the broader Finance function, the Business Intelligence (BI)Community and Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) Information Technology (IT) to support BI initiatives, awareness, projects and changes that impact FP&A.
