Senior Financial Analyst – Global R+D (Coyol, Alajuela)

Reporting to the Senior Finance Director for R&D the role will assist in providing strategic business partnerships to the Global R&D team. The Financial Analyst will work directly with both R+D leadership and R+D finance to prepare and develop standardized and custom reports, track key performance metrics, participate in month end close processes, and participate in adhoc projects. They will directly support the R+D leadership team with accurate, meaningful, and data driven reporting and analysis.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist the Sr. Director of Finance in providing strategic business partnerships to the Franchise R&D teams.
  • Responsible for providing monthly expense reporting, explain variances and provide proactive expense management . Demonstrate/create true guidance through sound financial analysis and collaboration, as well as other ad-hoc/value-add analysis.
  • Directly assist the R+D finance team in managing spend against budgets and forecasts for $300m AWM Franchise expense base, provide monthly expense reporting and quarterly forecasting.
  • Provide month-end support (journal entries, cost center support, various executive reporting/presentations, etc.), including key account reconciliations and routine expense reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and financial support (modeling, dashboard creation, variance analysis). Assist with the preparation of routine executive presentations (monthly review meetings with CFO, Quarterly Business Reviews, MFR and various Strategy presentations).
  • Demonstrate high standards of ethics and compliance, adhering to policies & procedures and compliance protocols.
  • Maintain strong internal controls within day/day processes to ensure a sound control environment/SOX compliance

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related fields required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Finance preferred, with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in the Healthcare industry, preferably medical equipment/devices preferred.
  • Advanced skills in systems specifically Excel and PowerBI, preferably with knowledge of MS Power suite (PowerQuery etc). Experience with SAP, Business Objects, and HFM systems highly desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with Microsoft Access a plus.
  • Experience of accounting matters, especially with knowledge of profit and loss accounts and their impact on balance sheet, cash flow statements.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage simultaneous data analysis requests of varying size and scope.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and goals with firm deadlines.
