Central Garden & Pet is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance and Analytics to join our Corporate Finance team, supporting our net productivity and procurement teams. This is a remote with travel or hybrid role, and with preference to candidates in the metro areas near our offices in Schaumburg, IL.
The Senior Financial Analyst for Supply Chain Net Productivity and Procurement will be a pivotal member of our supply chain finance team. Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain Finance and collaborating closely with various business partners, this role encompasses responsibilities in supply chain finance, FP&A, CAPEX analytics and reporting, and strategic business partnering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain FP&A:
  • Sustain streamlined and cohesive reporting structure for data across multiple BU’s and ERPs.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights for the supply chain team, including variance analysis, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Maintain the CAPEX tracking and reporting process, including a holistic consolidation quarterly for leadership.
  • Support the development of the annual budget and periodic financial reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Business Partnering:
  • Act as an integral financial business partner to the Manufacturing, Net Productivity and Procurement teams, providing financial insights and analysis to drive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and business unit partners to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
  • Develop new reporting based on cross-functional business/system needs.
  • Present financial information and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Contribute reports and analysis for established meeting cycles.
  • Supply Chain Cost and Simplification Program
  • Support financial analysis and reporting to facilitate the ongoing cost and simplification initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment with supply chain optimization efforts.
  • Uphold financial models to assess and improve supply chain efficiency.

Measures of Success:

  • Strong communication of financial and data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Improvement in report generation efficiency and enhancement of data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in managing financial aspects of supply chain operations, including FP&A and financial/data analytics.
  • Ability to understand and manage complex issues and implement practical and innovative solutions.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand their financial needs and provide valuable insights.
  • Expertise in managing time and priorities to meet deadlines, balance competing demands, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • 3+ years proven experience in Corporate Finance and financial analysis
  • Experience utilizing SQL, Tableau/Business Objects, Power Pivot/Power Query, and BOBJ or similar is required. Alteryx experience preferred.
  • Experience in integrating data from disparate sources to create cohesive and insightful reports.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or procurement finance a plus
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial and data analysis clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
