Senior Financial Analyst - Temporary (18-24 Months)
K3 Where will you work: Onsite – Esterhazy, Saskatchewan (Highway 22
Esterhazy, SK S0A 0X0) or Colonsay, Saskatchewan (3 miles South Junction Hwy. 16 & 2, Colonsay, SK S0K 0Z0)
The SFA will be a strategic business partner for our Esterhazy K3 and Colonsay Potash Operations who will lead relevant financial activities and provide analysis for these facilities. An on-site presence at either of these Saskatchewan locations is preferred, but opportunity for remote or hybrid work arrangements may be negotiable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the cost accounting processes; translating numbers into meaningful, actionable information.
  • Providing financial leadership and guidance as a member of the local leadership/management teams.
  • Providing analytical thought leadership and in-depth financial knowledge / expertise to help drive transformational cost and performance improvements.
  • Compiling financial information for ad hoc projects.
  • Implementing digital acceleration initiatives and system changes.
  • Directing five-year planning, budgeting/forecasting and management reporting.
  • Ensuring financial controls are followed.

What you’ll do?

  • Partner and support plant operations to achieve financial targets.
  • Provide financial service and support by leading the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, analysis and monthly cost reviews.
  • Support and participate in long-range planning to achieve strategic commitments and targets.
  • Partner with site management on the development and identification of transformational targets and objectives.
  • Direct site leadership on the realization of these established goals to track progress and ensure of initiatives is achieved.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for financial information directly related to the plant operation.
  • Prepare forecast outlooks as needed based on changing business conditions.
  • Lead or participate in other projects and analysis for opportunity capital, transformation projects, change in operating decisions, including, but not limited to, product line profitability, process improvement in financial operations, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Lead and support automated Management Reporting dashboards tailored to various plant site leadership to track key performance indicators.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant degree required or CPA in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial or accounting experience in an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel and/or Power BI skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead through influence and networking.
  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities.

Bonus Points if You Have the Following:

  • Master’s Degree or CPA.
  • Prior experience in fertilizer or other commodity industry.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP.
  • Experience/Knowledge with Business Intelligence systems.
