Description:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree / diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Manager
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software (Sage EVO) and Excel
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and accounting software
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Ability to direct, lead, manage and supervise staff compliment of 12 people

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts and admin department:
  • Month-end and end-year process
  • Accounts payable/receivable spot checks
  • Daily cashbook and allocations
  • Manage all accounting transactions and general ledger
  • Coordinate company inventory system, finalize month-end stock take and correct variances to enable accurate financial reporting
  • Payroll and utilities and data capturing on Pastel Payroll - reconcile staff loans, deductions, and journals
  • Expenditure variance analysis on management accounts
  • Fixed assets activity monitoring and control thereof
  • Petty Cash and related
  • Manage accounting data and produce monthly management accounts and related financial variance reports
  • Manage accounting methods, policies, and principles to meet financial accounting objectives within the admin department
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Supervise and manage administrative staff (12): procurement, stock control, debtors, creditors and payroll
  • Compile and submit monthly statutory SARS reports and payments:
  • VAT201 reconciliations
  • EMP201 reconciliations
  • EMP501 (Bi-annual – Easy-File)
  • Prepare and action monthly creditors and sundry payments
  • Ensure all month-end responsibilities according to the admin workflow document are completed on time
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Installment sales agreements reconcile and process (VAF)
  • Reconcile various control accounts and intercompany reconciliations
