We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Senior Financial Reporting and Revenue Accountant to join our Finance Department.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to our Financial Controller the Senior Financial Reporting and Revenue Accountant is a pivotal role in ensuring we meet all our public company reporting requirements in accordance with Canadian law and TSX requirements.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for:

  • Producing accurate, timely, meaningful financial information for the Group in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and Canadian legal and regulatory requirements, as well as all related activities of a publicly listed, rapidly growing software company with expanding international operations, andAnalysis of revenue contracts, preparing financial information and accounting for revenue in compliance with IFRS

  • We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with excellent technical and communication skills, a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail to deliver quality Entity and Group reporting in a fast-moving environment. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Member of either the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
  • 5+ years of PQE in a financial reporting role, with experience in preparing Financial Statements under IFRS and preferably with IFRS 15 software revenue experience
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting theory and demonstrated ability to apply theory in practice
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent communication and teamworking skills. Strong track record of communicating with various stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail - both numerical and written accuracy is criticalProficiency with Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accurate quarterly & annual Group Financial Statements (under IFRS) and related documents for publication in accordance with Canadian and TSX requirements
  • Analyse and report quarterly revenue results - research and assessment of appropriate IFRS 15 accounting treatment for sales contracts to ensure the accuracy of revenue reporting
  • Research and analysis of complex accounting issues and preparation of accounting memos, and the assessment and implementation of any new IFRS standards.
  • Lead quarterly and annual external audit process - manage relationships with the company auditors, ensure completion of clean and timely audits, and prepare for and attend Audit Committee meetings
  • Statutory financial statements for the Irish legal entity
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with TSX stock exchange and Canadian public company rules, regulations and statutory requirements
  • Equity Accounting – Account for all employee and director stock compensation plans and ensure accuracy of the master file at all times. Ensure all payroll and statutory reporting requirements are completed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Timely preparation of month end accounting for area of responsibility and any related management reporting
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to the standard required under the Canadian equivalent of SOX, to account for revenue from customer contracts on an accurate and timely basis, and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support AR and the contracts team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing on an ongoing basis and identification of contracts that are coming up for renewal
  • Work with our business partners and legal counsel on contract review and revision where finance input is required
  • Accurate calculation of quarterly commissions
  • Work with Legal Council and the Company Registrar to co-ordinate and manage the (public company) AGM
  • Support periodic company funding activities
  • Assist / provide input for the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Leadership – support the development of the accounts receivable function, drive the culture of continuous improvement within the finance department and take responsibility for projects as requiredRegular interaction and communication with commercial and operations teams to ensure accuracy of financial records
