The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Fluid Systems Design and Analysis Engineer based out of El Segundo, CA.
This position will be a part of Boeing Research & Technology: Boeing’s Global Research & Development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace. We are engineers and technicians, skilled scientists and bold innovators.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Experience do you have working with mechanical and fluid systems
- Experience defining test plans, procedures, and reports to validate performance specifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 3+ years of experience with modeling & simulation of a fluid, cooling, or propulsion system
- Experience working with product/component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality to the overall system
- Experience with Matlab tools
- Active SCI Clearance
TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and provides technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design.
- Leads activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.
- Leads the development, maintenance or modification of system components’ designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.
- Performs and documents analyses.
- Manages supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
- Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.
- Supports proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
- Trains and coaches others.
- Works under minimal direction.
- 25% travel within the Southern California region
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
