Job location
Join the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) team as we expand our services across Regional and Rural Victoria. This role will be based at the newly establish Shepparton site to service the Hume Region. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending.
About the Role:
These newly created positions provide an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service, reflective of the expanding growth of Forensicare. The roles will be required to embed Forensicare’s model of care in practice within the Hume region, which will include assessing and managing violence risk, working collaboratively in a recovery-orientated framework and proactively developing and maintaining close professional relationships with the relevant AMHWS.

Duties:

  • Provide specialist primary, secondary and tertiary consultation services for AMHWS and other key stakeholders, including advanced specialist forensic mental health assessments, risk assessments, reports, and advice.
  • Provide case management on a shared care basis with AMHWS.
  • Provide individual and/or group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
  • Provide discipline-specific contributions to the team’s clinical practice and program development.

About You:

  • Understanding in the forensic mental health needs and practice models for people living in the community
  • Engage constructively and share information with the multidisciplinary team to support delivery of best care, achieving meaningful and appropriate service outcomes.

What you need:

  • Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and incorporating consumer perspectives into service delivery.
  • If a psychologist, completion of Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent or a Doctorate degree in Forensic psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent, endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of clinical psychology, and endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia, in the area of forensic psychology.
