DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, to facilitate timely delivery of appropriate geotechnical engineering guidance for our underground operations at Duketon South. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager - Underground, you will support the geotechnical function to provide technically sound solutions for stope sequencing, stope and backfill design, underground development and infrastructure design. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to establish best practice geotechnical process, designs and systems to ensure the safe and optimal extraction of an evolving orebody.
Although this role is primarily focused on our underground operations, collaboration with, and exposure to our open pits will be encouraged.
This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster (ex Perth).
About the Role
Actively lead / supervise the geotechnical function across the Rosemont and Garden Well UG operations;
Provide management compliance of the ground control management plan;
Plan, coordinate and manage site investigations to deliver geotechnical reports including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and making recommendations;
Geotechnical mapping, core logging and training of mine geologists and geotechnical engineers in geotechnical data collection, standards and database management;
Liaise with DMIRS and other external stakeholders as required;
Cost management and business improvement projects;
Manage, report and analyse ongoing ground support and back fill QA/QC test work and compliance;
Review, development, and implementation of ground support systems and relevant site procedures; and
Conduct structural geology and, where required, hydrogeological studies.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

About You
Tertiary degree in mining, civil engineering or geology and at least 7 - 10 years of relevant experience;
Demonstrated skills in report writing, spreadsheets, costing systems, cost control;
Accurate and methodical with an ability and willingness to train and mentor others;
Experience with Rocscience software programs and input parameters will be beneficial; and
Experience and/or knowledge of geomechanics principles will be considered favourably.
