Description:

The MolyCop business currently has 15 manufacturing facilities located throughout Australasia, South and North America, Europe. The business supplies steel consumables, primarily grinding media to the Copper Gold mineral processing sector. The business has revenues in excess of $1.4Billion and employs more than 1200 direct employees.
MolyCop’s raw material feedstock strategy incorporates a range of supply options including domestic sourcing, as well as importing ~450KT of steel bar and other traded products. The Singapore trading office is responsible for the sourcing and supply of our imported bar needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree qualified preferred
  • 10+ years in competitively sourcing logistics categories ideally with shipping ex Asia to the South Americas experience.
  • Break bulk experience a must; container cargo experience valued
  • Good knowledge of shipping operations and documentation, chartering, cargo loading.
  • Ship Broker / Agent background will be highly valued
  • English and Mandarin language a must

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a key team member of our trading hub operation, the role supports the Vice President Globla Trading to ensure;

  • Our imported bar feedstock needs as defined through our S&OP process, are delivered in full and on-time.
  • The most cost efficient and effective freight and logistics service that leverages our volume, demand planning, mill relationships and market insights.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Develop and execute a freight and logistics strategy to supply raw materials and traded products across our international operations footprint.
  2. Accountable for transportation spend associated with imported bar supply and traded products.
  3. Manage all strategic supplier relationships including negotiations with carriers to obtain optimum rates and service
  4. Utilise knowledge in freight classification, routing, ports, rates and claims management to deliver solutions to the business.

  5. Lead the development of freight management processes (Bulk/ Container):

  • Vendor Management (Supplier selection, qualification, and evaluation)
  • Freight contract negotiation and management (commercial aspects terms and conditions)
  • Freight execution (cost control, tracking, and mitigate potential risk exposure)
  • Performance review (DIFOT)
  • Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  1. Develop models to evaluate supplier costing scenarios and options.
  2. Oversee the execution of associated shipping documentation
  3. Conducts regular pricing reviews with service providers. Conducts benchmarking on pricing to ensure that we achieve the best rates/service levels. Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives.
  4. Participate in the elaboration of the global and local procurement budgets for Balls supply (Container / Bulk) across new market/ countries globally.
  5. Manage freight global operational performance and drive 3PL improvements.
  6. Responsible for validating service provider invoices and ensuring erroneous invoices are queried and resolved.
  7. Weekly freight report to the leadership (market trend/ freight rates analysis/ freight forecasting)
  8. Liaison and coordination with internal divisions and customers for problem solving.
  9. Manages and/or provides day-to-day leadership and coaching to operational roles.
