This is a high profile governance role, the Senior Governance Manager within ANZ’s Credit Model Governance function will actively participate in the ongoing management of end-to-end processes and protocols necessary to ensure that ANZ meets its obligations in relation to APRA’s Prudential Standards 3PS 221, 3PS 222 and APS 222.
Your responsibilities include building strong working relationships with Senior Business Leaders and Risk, Finance, Legal, Marketing, M&A and Treasury partners, providing insight and advice in relation to the interpretation, measurement, management and reporting of these prudential standards. You will work closely with the divisions and business units to oversee ANZ Group wide compliance with 3PS 221, 3PS 222 and APS 222 obligations. The role also focusses on embedding ANZ’s Non-Financial Risk Transformation into BAU practices and evolving associated controls and approaches to compliance to accommodate ANZ’s strategic changes.
What will your day look like
Overseeing ANZ’s compliance with 3PS 221, 3PS 222 and APS 222.
Driving continuous improvement in the management of regulatory obligations, including strong support and guidance to Risk, Finance and Treasury partners.
Reviewing and evolving ANZ’s approach to compliance (ATCs) as required to accommodate ANZ strategic changes.
Supporting Non Financial Risk Transformation.
Fostering strong collaborative relationships across Risk, Finance, Legal, Marketing, M&A and Treasury.
Role modelling and promoting ANZ values.
Managing associated policies and procedures relating to 3PS 221, 3PS 222 and APS 222 and facilitating updates to senior executive Committees, the Board and APRA as required.
Providing insight and advice in all 3PS 221, 3PS 222 and APS 222 matters.
Supporting the Head of Credit Model Governance with other model governance related activities as required.
What will you bring
To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:
Extensive experience in managing regulatory obligations and controls, ideally APRA Standards.
Strong problem solving skills, with an ability to deal with ambiguity and challenge current practices and assumptions, making decisions with imperfect information.
A track record of risk partnership, leveraging expertise to add value and insights and bringing teams together to solve complex problems.
Demonstrated capability in communicating with and influencing senior stakeholders to garner support and alignment. Ability to effectively prepare Senior Risk Committee and Board reports.
Ability to manage changing and competing priorities.
Experience in developing and embedding risk management frameworks (including policy writing and advice).
Good communicator and presenter, able to articulate complex subjects in a verbal or written manner that is understandable to a non-technical audience.
Knowledge of Non Financial Risk Frameworks is preferable.
Ideally broad risk, finance and capital management knowledge (APRA prudential standards, capital planning, credit risk).
