Description:
ABOUT COMMON GOAL
With more than three billion fans, football is the largest social phenomenon on the planet. No other sport boasts such wealth, reach or cultural significance. Common Goal is rooted in the belief that the world’s most popular sport is one of the few cultural forces strong enough to help shift society towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
We want to maximise the game’s contribution to people and planet by forging a lasting connection between football as a business and football as a catalyst for social transformation. We believe that achieving long-lasting change requires everyone’s collaboration. That’s why we are building a movement that creates opportunities for every stakeholder in football to participate and collaborate in support of our people and planet, including some of the biggest players, brands, clubs and confederations in the world from Megan Rapinoe to Jurgen Klopp and adidas to UEFA.
Bottom-up and inside-out, we place all our focus on strengthening local capacity via a network of over 200 community organisations across 100+ countries to transform realities, embedding purpose at the heart of the football industry and using football as enabler to inspire a shift in mindset.
Responsibilities:
As our Senior Grants Manager, you will oversee the grant management processes at Common Goal in line with our strategic objectives. This includes the internal Common Goal funding cycle that distributes the 1% contributions made by Common Goal members as well as additional grant processes coordinated by Common Goal in collaboration with external partners. Responsibilities range from call for proposal preparations, application evaluations to contract management, project management and impact reporting. As a cross-functional position, you will be part of the Community team and work at the intersection of our Community, Impact, Fundraising, and Finance & Admin teams.
Beyond strong communication and coordination skills with colleagues, international organisations and funding partners, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing and improving all processes linked to grant management and programme coordination, establishing standards and guidelines, and using clever technology solutions. A very high attention to detail and proven experience in grant management are crucial for the success of the position.
This position will be based in our HQ in Berlin.
