Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Center Platform Applications Engineering (DCPAE) within the Datacenter and Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) organization is seeking an experienced, passionate, dynamic and well-rounded individual to be part of the sustaining leadership team responsible for supporting Intel Xeon Server and Workstation products in production.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing, answering and closing customer IPS / HSD-ES issues.
  • Utilizing engineering judgment and discretion to help develop new workarounds and mitigations.
  • Influencing business unit and cross-organizational stakeholders to drive alignment on solutions to dynamically mitigate complex problems and implement countermeasures to prevent future problems.
  • Taskforces, Single Voice TF, PRT and technical reviews of multiple issue response team solution designs and execution plans to assess technical correctness, validation coverage, and technical readiness for integration.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Provide documentation support for Xeon platform collateral.
  • Represent customer needs to internal teams to drive requirements for quality and functionality.
  • Provide internal and external functional, security and IPU related training.
  • In the Extended Support Lead role, support customer issues and work directly with critical issue response and ingredient IP teams to deliver complex technology solutions to our customers for quality, security, and functional correctness.
  • Drive multiple externally and internally found issues simultaneously and work with key stakeholders to identify and implement workarounds and mitigations.
  • Assess risk, identify issues, and work cross-organizationally to resolve problems.
  • Summarize complex information into clear directions that get delivered through internal and external communications channels is important.
  • Interacting with technical leads, manufacturing, quality, validation, architecture, and other engineering teams.
  • Work closely with customers (i.e., OEMs, ODMs, CSPs, MNCs, and IBVs) to help resolve and document issues.

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following skill and behavioral traits:

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).

10+ years of experience working with one or more of the following:

  • Leading a Customer IRF or SysDebug.
  • Hardware design, microcode development, BIOS / Firmware development or validation tools.
  • Intel architecture-based server platform design and / or debug.
  • Processor micro-architecture, both core and uncore architectures.
  • DCAI server products and knowledge of key platform firmware components such as UEFI, microcode, SPS, etc.Experience with Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, Purley Platform, and Whitley Platform highly desirable.
