We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor for an Owners team vacancy working on a major Operational iron Ore site in regional WA. This is a Site based role – 14/7 FIFO, and a 9-month contract.
Reporting directly to the Site Construction Manager and HS Manager, your ability to lead, develop, mentor and coach others within the HS team and the site overall will be critical to the success of the Project

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years working in Mining operations
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Lead Investigator (ICAM)
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent)
  • Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations, Mining Act & Regulations, relevant standards and codes of practice
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and maintaining HS management systems
  • Ability to prepare, monitor and report against business plans and budgets

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and Safety Leadership through positive engagement with the Client and Contractor Management Teams across the project
  • Provide functional performance reporting and advice to the Management team
  • Assist the Management Team when conducting incident investigations
  • Monitor and measure contractor performance against their own HS management systems
  • Engage with external service providers, stakeholders and associated companies to build sustainable relationships to identify mutually beneficial service solutions that will deliver positive outcomes for the project
  • Drive, support and facilitate implementation, maintenance and improvement of the projects HS Management System
