PSG is a data-driven consulting organization that advises the largest healthcare payers on the optimal use of medications within their pharmacy program. We are seeking a candidate for the role of Senior Healthcare Data Analyst to join our team. This role provides analytic support to meet the needs of our clients. The analyst role is essential to gain insight into a client’s business problem to be solved and to formulate a data-driven approach to solve the problem. The analyst will present fact-based business intelligence necessary to make informed decisions on their key healthcare strategies.
This is a client-facing role responsible for communicating complex analytical findings and conclusions. Knowledge of drug-related claims within pharmacy and medical data and experience presenting to external audiences is critical. The role will support specific client engagements on an ongoing basis. The analyst will manage projects and tasks and will communicate with clients and stakeholders. The analyst will provide a strong link between customers and the development team, gather and document requirements, create SQL queries to pull and perform analysis of data and conduct impact assessments and recommend solutions while staying current with industry trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing, modeling, and manipulating Healthcare (pharmacy/PBM and/or medical) data required.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy data, PBM industry, medical procedures, health conditions, and provider practices.
  • Working knowledge of database applications, including extraction and querying skills. Proficient using SQL to extract data. SAS experience is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining business intelligence tools (e.g., Sigma, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience analyzing raw data, with ability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level of detailed accuracy.

  • Professionally interact with a diverse group of stakeholders including executives, managers, clients, and subject matter experts both technical and non-technical.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Analytics/Informatics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Financial Discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint (advanced knowledge in Excel a plus).
  • Ability for some travel (up to 10%).

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with consultants and clients to evaluate and identify cost and utilization trends and experience for medications across benefits.
  • Discover insights that benefit clinical care and health outcomes in patients, as well as influence clients’ strategy.
  • Assist in determining and monitoring of quality measures for reporting and analytics processes.
  • Prioritizing competing client requests to ensure focus on highest impact activities.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams of technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver insights through reports, visualizations, dashboards, and other mediums.
  • Handling on-site or teleconferenced presentations as an individual or team, and written documents for assigned clients.
  • Develop clean, reusable, and testable analytical code and make use of existing data team libraries and modules.
  • Identify opportunities in the development of new capabilities that increase the value added to our clients.
  • Responsible for the design, analysis, development, and testing of custom ad hoc or standard reports to support effective and rapid decision making.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for Data and Analytics projects and work products.
  • Provides mentorship, guidance, and leadership to other analysts and teams as needed.
