THE OPPORTUNITY
The AEC is seeking dynamic, collaborative, self-motivated, results driven individuals at the APS 6 level, who can work autonomously providing support and expert advice on a range of complex HR related matters including performance and conduct, review of employment related actions, employment entitlements and conditions.
Utilising your expertise and knowledge in HR and employee relations fields, you will be required to develop, review and update industrial instruments, employment related policies, procedures and delegations.
Candidates will require excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships, providing clear and accurate advice, developing manager capability and organisational understanding of employee relations and performance policies, practices and procedures across the business.
We’re looking for talented candidates who can manage multiple stakeholder relationships effectively and deliver quality results within tight deadlines. Being in this role you must have strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to contribute to business improvement strategies will be essential.
During an election, you will also need to be responsive and show professional resilience and personal drive to deal with the high demand and volume of work generated.
To excel you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in HR and/or experience in an ER/IR employment related role including but not limited to assisting in the management of employment related industrial instruments and the formulation of employment related policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and provide advice in line with applicable governing frameworks and legislation, with knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, relevant APS employment frameworks and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to arrange information and evidence in a logical manner, summarise key details, and tailor messages for a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound written and verbal advice and communicate with influence across multiple audiences, while exercising discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters in an environment where accuracy and privacy is essential.
- Proven ability to successfully manage workload and proactively navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities and where required support direct report/s while delivering quality results within defined timeframes.
- The ability to drive governance, system and process improvement in line with legislation and best practice principles.
