Description:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Experience of handling confidential information in line with GDPR
  • Experience working with complex employee relations case work
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and able to clearly demonstrate this
  • Confident using HR Systems
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Resilient with the ability to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to prioritise competing and varied demands
  • A team player who can work well independently and use their own initiative
  • Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a professional manner
  • Professional manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint
  • It would be desirable to have a UK driving licence and your own car

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards it (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar level of rol

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive and practical advice and support to managers and colleagues in line with organisational policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Support internal stakeholders at all levels, providing advice, guidance and support on all aspects of employee relations, based on current employment legislation and best practice, which aligns with Optical Express values
  • Effective and timely case management of people related issues such as absence management, performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Encourage and support colleagues in their development and training
  • Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and communicate this and best practice to stakeholders
  • Act as a key contact for all People issues and deliver an efficient and timely response to issues
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with the management team across clinics and head office
  • Confidently engage in difficult conversations with colleagues directly, or advising via their line manager by having coaching conversations to achieve good working practices and maximise colleague engagement opportunities
  • Support the HR Manager by producing and analysing reports and calling out key trends
  • Manage People projects alongside day-to-day tasks
  • Deputising for the HR Manager when required
  • Direct line management of 2 HR Administrators and 2 HR Advisors

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards it (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar level of role
