ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Chartered Member of the CIPD (Chartered MCIPD) or eligible to achieve this status
  • Experience of researching and developing HR policies and procedures, conducting equality
  • Significant experience of providing proactive and professional HRBP support and advice to senior managers / leaders
  • Significant experience of dealing with a wide variety of employee relations casework and other HR issues
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft office and HR information systems. Competence in the use of Excel to support the development of accurate and useful management information.Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Group and the particular Divisions/Departments supported, including strategic aims, key priorities, immediate needs and pressure points.
  • Take a lead role in Divisions and Departments and work with senior management teams on particular people management issues, change programmes and similar. Work as an integrated member of senior management teams encouraging managers / leaders to take ownership of their people issues and develop their confidence and capability in people management.
  • Understand the recruitment and resourcing needs of Divisions/Departments and work with the recruitment team to deliver the relevant staffing requirements.
  • Manage the quality of disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases across relevant Divisions/Departments.
  • Maintain and develop key stakeholder engagement, and customer satisfaction through discussion, visits and support.
  • Work with L&D team to develop and deliver training courses and workshops to support the implementation of HR policies and procedures across the Group
  • Manage and lead Senior HR Advisors, HR Advisors and L&D Business Partners.
  • Ensure that resources are effectively and flexibly deployed to deliver high standards of HR service provision. Regularly review and assess team performance and quality of service provision to ensure high standards are achieved and examples of good practice are disseminated.
  • Monitor and improve HR KPI performance. To identify any deviations from targets and agree, develop and implement action plans with Senior HR Advisors and Managers.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to change management encouraging Senior Managers to develop their roles and responsibilities in managing and leading others.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation affecting the Group ensuring policy and practices are changed, monitored and adhered to.
  • Continually review own practices and the services provided by the HR department and work to improve performance and responsiveness.
  • Develop and make use of management information to identify organisational trends, provide insight on HR matters and inform decision making.
  • Act as positive advocate of HR system and be a proficient user of all the HR related modules.
  • Undertake a variety of project work including policy development, either collaboratively or independently to support the effective delivery of the People strategy, workforce plans and overarching Group strategy.
  • Represent HR and participate in working groups, and other meetings across the Group.
  • Lead the team to design, develop comprehensive learning and development programmes aligned with organisational goals.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted solutions to enhance employee capabilities and performance.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning by promoting and supporting various learning workshops, e-learning and mentorship programs.
  • Lead talent review processes to identify high potential individuals and succession planning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to ensure effective on-boarding, career development and retention strategies.
  • Implement talent development initiatives to build a pipeline of future leaders withing the organisation.
  • Promote and encourage the practice of the Group’s values and equality and diversity principles in contacts with all employees and partners throughout all streams of service delivery.
  • Maintain up to date own professional knowledge of employment legislation and best practices and identify own development needs.
  • To take on projects as agreed with the role holder’s line manager.
  • Any other duties as requested by the role holder’s line manager.
