Description:

Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR Team. You will be responsible for managing a team of 3 providing advice to Managers around human resource policies and practices.
This role is also a member of the Executive Team reporting to the Managing Director with influence over the strategic and tactical direction of the business. The role contributes to the development and operation of the company by setting the HR Strategy and People Plan for the business and having input into the overall Exceptional leadership, relationship skills, ability to collaborate, manage change, and the ability to influence and achieve desired outcomes are essential attributes of the jobholder.

Success in the role will be determined by the ability to:

  • Define tactical and strategic deliverables to ensure portfolio and business objectives are met.
  • Lead and co-ordinate multi-skilled teams to meet project deadlines and deliverables which enable the company to grow receivables, improve quality, and/or reduce costs.
  • Provide a customer and team driven focus that supports the strategic direction of the company.
  • Create a working environment where individuals flourish and perform to their full potential.
  • Track and communicate progress on key initiatives to the Executive and wider company.

Decisions & Authority:

  • Staffing levels within plan
  • Development of HR tools and strategies including recruitment model, consultation (redundancy) processes, and sponsorship of Health & Safety policy.
  • Risk and Compliance management procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

Financial Targets

  • Meet and exceed the annual budget plan of Samsung Electronics NZ (SENZ).

Strategy and Business Planning

  • Design and establish HR Strategy and People Plan which respond to internal and external forces and opportunities, are understood, set a direction and course for HR have buy-in and dictate activity within the organization.
  • Annual business plan and budget forecast in place

Policy & Risk Management

  • Develop SENZ HR policies and procedures which attract and retain the very best talent
  • Assess, communicate & mitigate HR risks
  • Ensure people policies are in place & adhered to in line with NZ legislation
  • Development and execution of the People Plan component of the enterprise wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
  • Adherence to policies, and prompt mitigation of any audit actions.
  • Risks are appropriately defined, measured and controlled within the overall Risk Management Framework structure.
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation.

HR Operations

  • Manage company remuneration practices ensuring that all internal and external relativities are aligned to compensation policy’s.
  • Manage effective recruitment processes

People Practice & Delivery

  • Effective and efficient management of resources.
  • In conjunction with the Corp Marketing team, propose and implement CSV initiatives and programs in line with the company approach and guidance
  • Delivery of a variety of HR initiatives in support of SENZ’s growth objective in a fast moving ever changing business environment on time, per the agreed scope and within budget.
  • Work as a business partner providing timely HR support and expertise to enable business units to achieve their business goals with high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Learning and development framework in place which meets long term growth objectives as well as short term operational needs.
  • Annual SCI Survey completed and enhancement strategy designed, communicated and implemented based on results
  • Drive values based culture through SENZ with the imbedding of values into people polices and processes. All staff to attend workshops to enable growth of values based decisions across SENZ and shared accountability
  • Clearly articulated and documented recruitment strategy

Health, Safety & Wellness

  • Comply with the workplace safety management practices audit standards to meet tertiary status in the bi-annual audit
  • Ensure there is appropriate support & resourcing for health and safety management and initiatives at all levels across SENZ.
  • Keep current with trends and best practise in wellness and health and safety practises to provide continuous improvement
  • Key focus on initiatives such as the SENZ Wellness Programme to drive engagement and increase health and productivity

Internal Communication

  • Progress communicated on a timely basis and in an effective format enabling managers and the wider company to understand progress, issues and opportunities.
  • Pivotal role in communication across business units with a key driver of breaking down the silos and using a dialogue approach to communication.

Team Development

  • Regular structured and on the job coaching for direct reports and wider team enables individuals to perform and contribute fully
  • Ensure foundations, structure and communication in place to develop and lead a highly performing team
  • Performance Management Reviews completed incorporating stretching development plans for direct reports.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in HR or business-related field preferred
  • Five or more years of proven work experience in human resources, in both operational and strategic aspect
  • Generalist experience with exposures on employee relations, learning & development, leadership coaching and/or leading projects, would be desirable
  • Working knowledge of HRIS system and payroll system
  • Updated knowledge of employment legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from different fields and cultures
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize conflicting deadlines
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to gain respect from all levels of the business
