Position Overview
As the Senior HR Manager, Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization’s employment practices and policies comply with all relevant laws and regulations as well as internal policy and process. Your role will involve developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs and procedures to mitigate legal risks and promote a fair and inclusive work environment. You will collaborate closely with HR leadership, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and legal compliance across all aspects of our human resources operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and interpret federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to legal requirements and best practices.
  • compliance expectations to HR staff and other relevant stakeholders and provide guidance on implementation.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of HR processes, practices, and documentation to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update compliance programs accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR personnel in addressing compliance-related inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address identified compliance deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations, findings, and remedial actions taken.
  • Identify areas of potential risk related to HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to mitigate compliance risks and promote a culture of ethical behavior and accountability.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, legal counsel, and other departments to ensure alignment on compliance-related matters.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management and key stakeholders on compliance initiatives, issues, and trends.
  • Foster effective working relationships with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in multi-state, multi branch operations, California/Oregon/Colorado and CBA experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and training initiatives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, Professional in Human Resources) preferred.
