Description:

Our State Government client requires a Senior HR Officer with a strong background in processing payroll to undertake the following duties:

Payroll processing and production

  • ensure payroll processing and advice complies with relevant legislation, industrial instruments

and government policies and circulars

  • provide a responsive customer service in relation to payroll and related enquiries
  • provide direction and support to other payroll personnel to achieve outcomes
  • take responsibility for work, delegating accordingly to meet timeframes and priorities
  • undertake complex payroll claims and reviews
  • quality assures fortnightly payroll
  • take responsibility for ensuring fortnightly payroll is completed within agreed timeframes and at a

high level of accuracy

  • ensures payroll processes are documented and up to date

Advisory and support

  • manage communication with system providers and meet contractual conditions
  • contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures
  • support the wider HR team, providing reporting support to meet operational needs
  • liaise with finance on interface issues including payroll and superannuation
  • work with other employees to support time recording systems
  • conduct research into HR matters as required
  • contribute to analysis and evaluation of processes, systems and reports in relation to

operational HR services

  • consult with stakeholders and builds relationships across the organisation to achieve results
  • engage with other public sector agencies to gain support and cooperation on payroll related

matters

  • actively identify and take responsibility for development and implementation of continuous

improvement opportunities
This role offers an immediate start on a 3 month contract with possible extension. Experience with systems Ascender, ELMO and Aurion is highly regarded. Experience working within a Govt department is essential.
