ABOUT US
Townsville Aboriginal and Islander Health Service (TAIHS) provides a range of medical and clinical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Townsville and the surrounding region. Our health services are provided by a dedicated team of Doctors, Indigenous Health Professionals, Nurses, Visiting Specialists and Allied Health Professionals.
TAIHS seeks to improve health and social outcomes for the community through strategic partnerships, advocacy for needs, promotion of awareness and education in improved health and social practices, promotion of knowledge and understanding of underlying issues and unique needs and development of the evidence base.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar size organization in an in-house recruitment role
- Experience in coordinating training within organisational parameters
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree, diploma or Cert IV in Human Resources or willing to obtain
- Good knowledge of Awards, Industrial Relations, Fair Work Act and compliance issues
- Demonstrated understanding of the historical and contemporary issues and challenges relevant to the Aboriginal and Islander communities, organisations and individuals
- Workplace injury claims management
- Ability to perform effectively in a demanding and dynamic environment/role and manage time effectively
- Demonstrated ability to take direction, determine priorities and manage workloads in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives
- High level interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated competence in use of Business technology and desktop applications; internet, Microsoft word, spreadsheet and database packages
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to pass a National Police Check – no Serious/Criminal/Court Records
- Current Blue Card (Queensland’s Working with Children Check)
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)
- COVID-19 Vaccination: It is a condition of employment for this position to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19
