JOB DETAILS:

We are currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer, knowledgeable in HVDC designs, for our Power Division. The candidate will work remotely with a group located across the United States and Canada. Tetra Tech offers the opportunity to have access to a local office if required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of working experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Possess a PE license in the United States with the possibility of obtaining a license in other States/Provinces.
  • Completed at least one detailed design project for an HVDC substation.
  • Possess experience in the study, technical knowledge, and design expertise of electrical distribution systems and industrial controls for a broad range of industries, with a heavy emphasis on utility substations
  • Possess experience in preparing layouts, elevation views, installation details, grounding, lighting, cable trays and conduit layout drawings is required.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills (client relations, team project communications, and proposal and report development).
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing technical specification of the electrical equipment, evaluation of proposals, and will be able to review vendor drawings.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience conducting projects using a 3D design software.

    The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigns and outlines work, advises on technical problems, and reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Reviews and prepares technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Prepares proposal writeups and estimates based on client Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Develops, approves, and co-ordinates work schedules to ensure that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met
  • Requires effective working relationships with colleagues, officials, and associates for the purpose of discussing design problems, explaining design features and specifications, and other project control criteria
  • Establishes and maintains client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to the immediate project
  • Analyses problems, organizes investigations, and determines specific design criteria
  • Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet objectives
  • Is required to have knowledge of related disciplines/fields of engineering
