Our client is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join their team in Nusa Tenggara. Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will play a crucial role in managing the company’s water resources. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed studies, developing robust testing programs, creating strategic plans for water management systems, analysing data, and making informed decisions about water management. You will also collaborate with various teams to ensure best practices are followed. Your expertise will be vital in carrying out field investigations, installing new systems, supervising groundwater monitoring from existing equipment, and regularly reporting on your findings.

  • Conduct comprehensive studies to assess the environmental impacts of water use and infrastructure
  • Develop testing and monitoring programs, as well as hydrogeological and hydrological models
  • Implement continuous improvement practices in water management
  • Create sound plans for water management systems to support mine feasibility studies and infrastructure layout plans
  • Analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions regarding water management and infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively with various teams including consultants, contractors, and database teams
  • Ensure constant liaison with the environmental team regarding surface water and water quantity and quality monitoring
  • Carry out field investigations for these studies, including hydrological and hydrogeological mapping, piezometer installation, aquifer tests, and supervise all surface water monitoring and measurement installations

The ideal candidate for the Senior Hydrogeologist role will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in hydrogeology, mining or civil engineering. With at least 8 years of experience in a similar role, you will have a deep understanding of government regulations and technical requirements for river diversion, Dam and Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF) concept. Your strong background in hydrological and hydrogeological modelling using various software tools will be crucial to your success in this role. Additionally, your ability to understand aquifer tests, rainfall analysis, water balance estimation, and dewatering programs will set you apart.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology-Hydrogeology, Mining or Civil Engineering (Water Infrastructure)
  • Minimum 8 years experience in a related position
  • Familiarity with government regulations and technical requirements permitting for river diversion, Dam and Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF) concept
  • Experience working in a mine or feasibility study project of mineralization systems as a Hydrogeologist
  • Strong knowledge of hydrological and hydrogeological modelling in GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FeFlow, Visual Modflow
  • Good understanding of aquifer tests for hydrogeological properties, rainfall analysis, estimate water balance, dewatering progra
