Are you curious about being part of our growth story while evolving your skills in a culture that will welcome your unique contributions? If so, let’s start the conversation.
Iron Mountain’s Professional Services organization is looking for a Senior Implementation Engineer who, as part of the Professional Services engineering team will design and develop content and records management applications that are built on Iron Mountain’s data platform, aid in design of content data architectures, RESTful integrations between Iron Mountain content platforms and customer systems, as well as other engineering work for our customers. In this role, you will balance your time between engaging with the customer to develop low level designs that resolve our functional designs, use cases and user stories, and implementing the design via your code. At times, you will lead conversations with our customers and implement the designs, while mentoring and supporting junior engineers implementing the designs. This is a fully technical role where your engineering, communication, and mentoring skills provide value for our customers and for our team.
The ideal candidate for this role will consistently lead by example and be the change agent for our customers. You will combine your years of proven expertise with a drive to create innovative technology through solid engineering practices. You’ll lead by designing and implementing to the highest standards, constantly understanding the difference between what technology our customers want vs. what technology they need to be successful, never afraid to say NO to our customers (or others) when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements, which include functional, data, security, integration, and performance user journeys
  • Write code daily that implements these requirements and user stories
  • Set the tone by fostering teamwork, conveying the client’s vision, and ensuring you adhere to best practices
  • Work directly with the services engineering team to mature, revise and implement this work, showing pragmatism, creativity, discipline, and thought in your designs and code
  • Help identify risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies associated with the different elements of the engineering and implementation
  • Provide an engineering viewpoint to project managers who develop project plans for our customers
  • Assist in troubleshooting major issues encountered with the implementations
  • Utilize design thinking methodologies and processes to facilitate development of solution design and architecture
  • Provide feedback to Iron Mountain product management and core engineering team members on customers’ needs for existing features, future roadmap items, or features developed by you or other team members
  • Stay current on various ECM, RPA, cloud, container/ K8s, AI/ML, content services, and BPM practices/technologies
  • Maintain and grow your subject matter expertise in API based system integrations, Java, .NET/C#, REST APIs, JavaScript, cloud NoSQL databases, indexing services, streaming and queuing services, and object stores
  • Identify and communicate to DevOps and CloudOps volume and performance requirements needed to scale the cloud platform. Design and implement performance testing when needed
  • Support and promote Iron Mountain core values
