Position Overview
The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer will be reporting to the Director, Infrastructure Engineering to review, maintain and implement industry best practice cloud native infrastructure technology with an emphasis on automation/infrastructure as code and processes to improve quality and performance in support of the Production platform. This position will be responsible for overall health and quality of product infrastructure along with supporting other product functions within the agile teams.
The ideal candidate for this role is a transformational engineer with experience in transitioning teams and technologies to the cloud, in establishing modern practices around infrastructure automation, and in facilitating a true devops culture throughout product development and production operations, while maintaining consistent 24x7 service delivery of both legacy and new systems, identifying and mitigating risks within the infrastructure, overseeing release and maintenance processes, and meeting financial, technical and business objectives.

WHO YOU ARE:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related filed from an accredited institution, or equivalent relevant experience required

Experience

  • Background in modern infrastructure design and automation specializing in hybrid multi-cloud environments.
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Sr. DevOps Engineer or related title/role.
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as code / cloud / data center automation (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Rundeck).
  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with data center technologies (on-prem and colocation) and migrations to the cloud.
  • Experience using or implementing monitoring systems such as DataDog, Prometheus, Logstash, Kibana, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience automating CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Experience utilizing messaging bus systems such as Kafka.
  • Experience utilizing containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Fargate).
  • Experience scripting in either Python, Ruby, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience in monitoring and responding to on-call incidents.
  • Experience in DevOps culture and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Infrastructure as code and other automation tools to help engineering team efficiency.
  • Build and maintain the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of the platform and infrastructure.
  • Improve reliability, quality, performance and availability by implementing industry best practices to underlying platform technology.
  • Measure and optimize system performance and create remediation plans to mitigate any production impacting performance issue.
  • Manage, and remediate findings from security tools, pen test reports, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to assist with incident response and maintain product uptime.
  • Collaborate with and assist QA in performing load tests and assessing performance optimization.
  • Foster DevOps culture and advocate for an Agile mindset amongst all Engineering and Product teams.
  • Continually research, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies to improve our products.
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to assist with infrastructure related issues.
  • Ensures back up/DR replications are properly running as scheduled and maintain test cycles to ensure proper recovery.
