HOW WILL I HELP?

Infrastructure & Operations is embarking on a new operating model putting Westpac technologists in the driving seat by investing in our Level 3 engineering skills to enable a proactive operating model.
The Senior Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team is required to lead and support Westpac’s complex mainframe security environment within their technical expertise. This role plays an important part in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe environment and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for supporting the Mainframe infrastructure security services, including technical validation of implementations and proposed configurations.
  • Responsible for supporting evaluation of technical changes and assessment of root-cause-analysis and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for providing Security Mainframe Infrastructure & Operations expert technical advice and superior customer service for resolution of complex problems/incidents or implementation of major changes.
  • Responsible for providing\supporting Mainframe technical advice for continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluates and provides expert recommendations for process improvements, in close collaboration with partners, vendors and third-party suppliers, to ensure continuous service innovation and improvement.
  • Monitors and drives effective resolution of
  • technical issues as identified and assigned in operational governance meetings.
  • issues related to control gaps to support risk and control issue management.
  • Provides and ensures effective technical governance over services delivered by partners, vendors, and third-party suppliers.
  • Proactively establishes, engages and maintains a “One Team” mindset with partners, vendors and third-party supplier to deliver a service end to end.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the below skills:

  • Ten+ years relevant IT Mainframe industry experience with at least three years in a highly technical role.
  • Seven+ years’ experience in a complex IT Mainframe Security infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration and maintenance.
  • Expert knowledge within the Mainframe Security environment with experience in RACF and\or ACF2.
  • Knowledge of the zSecure suite of tools.
  • Advanced analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills.
  • A firm understanding of a financial services operating environment and core applications and products desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
