The Senior Instructional Designer & Lead Facilitator consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs, employs instructional design principles to create effective learning solutions, facilitates engaging training sessions and communicates with various levels of leadership. Additionally, the position utilizes technology to enhance the delivery of training programs, measures the effectiveness of learning initiatives as tied to organizational metrics and values, and communicates the impact to leadership. Overall, the role is instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning, development, and innovation within Colonial Group, Inc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Instructional Design or similar role.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies.
  • Proficiency in using instructional design software, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
  • Experience in designing and developing e-learning modules and blended learning solutions.
  • Solid understanding of visual design principles and the ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing instructional design projects and examples of engaging learning materials developed.
  • Experience in facilitating training sessions and workshops.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality learning solutions that meet organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and experience in content integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging learning solutions for all audiences, including leadership. This includes e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, videos, job aids, and assessments.
  • Create and maintain instructional design templates, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across learning initiatives.
  • Utilize instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create interactive and learner-centered training materials.
  • Leverage instructional design software and authoring tools to develop and deliver effective and visually appealing learning experiences.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure training solutions remain viable and meet all necessary standards.
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, engaging delivery of learning solutions.
  • Maintain and align learning with prescribed competency models.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of training as needed.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and programs for employees and leaders, both in-person and virtually.
  • Implement a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods to ensure content is effectively communicated and understood.
  • Consult with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze training needs and develop learning objectives and outcomes that achieve organizational goals.
  • Take input, collect and analyze data from business partners, and analyze processes to ensure performance improvement is achieved.
  • Partner with stakeholders on wide-scale initiatives to support change management efforts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make recommendations for improvements based on learner feedback and data analysis.
