About The Role:
Integrated Planning Analyst | Permanent | Melbourne Based | 2x Positions Available
The Integrated Planning, Data and Insights team within Customer Markets ensures competitive and sustainable energy solutions in the Australian market. By leveraging data and analytics, we optimize pricing, demand forecasting, resource allocation, and more to support AGL’s growth, foster customer loyalty, increase market share, and enhance customer experience through innovative commercial initiatives.
In this role, you will drive strategic decisions with data-driven insights and collaborative planning. You will play an active role in analysing complex market data, managing budget and forecast inputs, and supporting performance reporting. All while enhancing integrated planning models and working closely with cross-functional teams to align planning processes with AGL’s goals. Your work will transform complex data into actionable insights, aiding informed decision-making at all levels of AGL.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Integrated Business Planning: Align sales, marketing, product, and pricing plans with corporate objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Support strategic decisions with detailed data analysis and trend identification.
  • Forecasting and Modelling: Predict market trends and performance using advanced techniques.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market dynamics and regulatory changes to optimize strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs to evaluate and improve strategy effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Integrate planning with finance, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Risk Management: Recommend strategies to mitigate business risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance planning processes and tools for better efficiency.
  • Communication: Present clear analyses and recommendations to leadership.
  • Scenario Planning: Assess market impacts through scenario analysis for proactive decisions.

About you:

  • Previous demonstrated experience in energy planning, forecasting, or a similar analytical within the energy sector.
  • Strong familiarity with energy markets, regulatory frameworks and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL and Python.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as finance, operations and marketing.
  • Experience in utilising integrated planning systems and tools to optimise business processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to the energy sector
