The Service Victoria culture is dynamic and fast-paced, we’re not what you’d expect from a government department. We work flexibly and remotely, using our workspaces in Footscray and Ballarat for onsite collaboration. We have a mature digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems. We use a range of market-leading technology, such as AWS, Salesforce, Node.js, React, MuleSoft, Sitecore (.NET), HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and Java. From a Salesforce point of view, we use areas such as Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Omni Studio and Public Sector Solution.
Service Victoria is an Administrative Office attached to the Department of Government Services (DGS). DGS was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.
Service Victoria and DGS are bringing important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.
We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

Technology group
The Technology Group within Service Victoria sets direction, governs, builds and manages the technology underpinning the digital services we provide to citizens.
The Technology Group is comprised of Technology Architecture, Software Engineering functions, Information Security, Infrastructure and Service Management.

About the role
In this role, you will oversee a team of developers tasked with creating innovative digital solutions for Android and iOS mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing people effectively and a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in mobile development. Additionally, a proven track record in implementing agile delivery methodologies and exceptional communication abilities will be crucial for success in this position.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and Develop integration solutions:

• Collaborate with the Product Owner (PO), BA & other stakeholders to understand integration requirements.
• Design and develop scalable & efficient integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Implement best practices for API development & integration.
• API Development and Management:

*

• Design, develop & manage APIs using MuleSoft API manager.
• Ensure API security and adherence to API design principles.
• Monitor and optimize API performance.
• Data Mapping and Transformation:

*

• Implement data mapping & transformation logic as per integration requirements.
• Ensure data accuracy & integrity throughout the integration process.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Conduct thorough unit testing of developed integrations.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineer(s) to ensure the reality & quality of integration solutions.
• Documentation:

• Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed integrations.
• Keep documentation up to date with any changes or enhancements.
• Collaboration & Communication:

*

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise on integration solutions.
• Collaborate with system architects & other developers to ensure seamless integrations between systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data integration, ensuring the stability and performance of integrated systems.
• Review documentation and coding written by other team members and contribute to technical decisions and business requirements in user stories when appropriate.

Key selection criteria

• Proven experience in implementing complex integration solutions for enterprise-level systems.
• Understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and data formats
• Great communication and ability to build effective professional relationships with business team leaders, and team members.
• Desire to learn from others and constantly improve your craft.
• A well-developed sense of empathy for your customers, both internal and external.
• A good understanding of the SDLC and end to end delivery including discovery, architecture, analysis, development, testing and support etc

Experience and qualifications.

Mandatory requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Mulesoft developer role
• Good proficiency with Java
• Good proficiency withJSON and REST APIs
• Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Desirable

• Understanding of JavaScript and Node.jsfor custom scripting
• Understanding of AWS cloud services and their functionality
• Understanding of front-end technologies, such as React, HTML5 and CSS3.
