Description:
Are you ready to take the lead in managing logistics, inwards and outwards goods, and chemical inventory systems? Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Inventory Specialist to oversee these critical processes. As a Senior Inventory Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient flow of goods, accurate documentation, and compliance with legislative requirements. You’ll lead a dedicated team of internal resources and external suppliers, driving excellence in chemical purchasing, handling, storage, distribution, and shipping. What the Role Entails:
- Lead day-to-day hazardous substances activities, prioritizing health and safety at all times.
- Build and nurture positive relationships with key stakeholders and external suppliers, fostering trust and open communication.
- Oversee the decanting and disposal of surplus substances, ensuring proper protocols are followed.
- Own and maintain the chemical inventory system, managing end-to-end processes with meticulous attention to detail.
- Participate in health and safety initiatives, emergency management, and business continuity activities.
- Fulfill other duties as required, including participation in the call-out roster.
Experience Required:
- Understanding of courier, transport, and delivery practices, particularly for hazardous goods.
- Willingness to attain or possession of a forklift license.
- Knowledge of the HSNO Act and GHS classification systems and requirements (Must have!)
- Exceptional organizational skills in managing a busy and complex environment.
- Proficiency in digital tools and applications, with a quick learning aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence, persuade, coach, and negotiate at all levels within an organization.
