Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a superb opportunity for two experienced Senior Investigator & Case Managers to join our Compliance team. As a Senior Investigator & Case Manager you will be a key member of the Compliance function that is responsible for delivering a compliance programme for the Rail business unit, consistent with the rapidly evolving compliance landscape within the Hitachi Group.
This role will work closely with the wider Hitachi Rail Legal & Compliance team globally, requiring astuteness in navigating the organisation, and an ability to positively influence and secure stakeholder buy-in with clear and concise communication. Beyond collaboration within Legal & Compliance, regular interaction and partnership with colleagues in Human Resources, Finance, Internal Audit, Procurement, and Commercial functions should also be anticipated.
Investigations may be in multiple jurisdictions and across numerous lines of business, including recently acquired entities. The Senior Investigator & Case Manager will be expected to effectively handle multiple cases simultaneously whilst effectively promote ethical behavior and drive a strong compliance culture across the organisation. The selected candidate, to be based in UK will be an empowered member of the global Compliance team with technical remit for investigations, additionally supporting with responsibilities for operational deployment of the compliance programme as a whole, where needed. While competency and investigative experience is a key requirement, the successful candidate should also have a demonstrable compliance generalist skillset.

OTHER ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Compliance Manager – Whistleblowing by delivering independent, thorough, objective, and timely investigations in multiple jurisdictions, and ensuring effective case management.
  • Manage wing-to-wing investigations (intake review, issue triage, investigation plan development, interviews, documentation review, investigative report writing, closeout discussions, root cause analysis, support to corrective action-related processes, and post-case debriefings).
  • Manage the case management tool and associated registry files and ensure they are updated regularly and accurately.
  • Support continuous process and data improvement and trend analysis, including but not limited to templates and tools, setting, monitoring and analyzing KPIs (e.g. volume, vitality, days to closure).
  • Engage with management and key functions (such as Internal Audit, HR, Finance, Controllership) in support of the compliance programme, particularly as it relates to whistleblowing.
  • Understand applicable regulatory and Policy requirements linked to whistleblowing and investigations and monitor relevant changes.
  • Support in deployment of all elements of the compliance programme (anti-bribery, due diligence, training & communications, privacy, risk assessment, operations, export control etc.) to ensure unified and consistent deployment thereof wherever Hitachi Rail operates.
