Description:

BE INSPIRED EVERYDAY – LET YOUR WORK MAKE A DIFFERENCE

At HESTA we’re a leading national superannuation fund dedicated to people working in health and community services – a growing sector of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, day in day out, right across Australia.
More than one million Australians trust HESTA with their money. So together, we invest billions of their savings globally, striving to generate strong investment returns and make a real difference to their financial futures. Our focus is on helping our members enjoy the retirement they’ve worked hard for.
The opportunity – ‘Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life’ #careerswithimpact
Bring your authentic, passionate, witty self to this exceptional role.
As HESTA progresses on the investment internalisation journey, we have an opportunity for a Senior Investment Analyst to join our expanding investment team in a new role that focuses primarily on Portfolio Engineering.
The Senior Investment Analyst – Portfolio Engineering will play a key role in supporting the Portfolio Design team by automating and upscaling models, infrastructure and dashboards to allow for real time monitoring of economic, market and other signals that support cross asset research efforts on portfolio rebalancing, building/testing systematic trading strategies/signals, liquidity management, left tail risk mitigation, FX or inflation hedging.
In this newly created role, you will participate in the development of real-time portfolio construction tools covering both public and private asset classes to support scenario analysis of future investment decisions and incorporate learnings from past investment decisions.
Reporting to the General Manager – Quantitative Analysis and Research, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Portfolio Design and team members across investments. Principal accountabilities include contributing to a robust, scalable research infrastructure, ensuring models are compatible with existing data architecture and security protocols, troubleshooting and resolving research related model issues and handle the release of code fixes and enhancements.
Key activities will also include automating processes for live trading, proprietary data construction, data downloading, data cleaning and processing. The role also involves developing robust data checking and storage procedures, developing user interface tools and acting as an intermediary between investment management and investment execution (data and systems, operations, performance).
