YOUR EDUCATION & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus 5 years practical experience in a senior infrastructure position or systems architect position, or equivalent combination of formal and ongoing continued education and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience deploying solution within the Microsoft cloud, including hands-on experience transitioning on-premise solutions to cloud.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology (DIT) and under the direction of the Systems Architect, Infrastructure / Team Lead, the Senior IT Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer (SICE) follows change enablement and standard operating procedures to ensure seamless support for current systems while effectively deploying new IT solutions. The role leads implementation of technical infrastructure projects and initiatives, mentors junior members on the team, and provides technical infrastructure leadership across all IT functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Designs, implements, and administers IT infrastructure of BCCNM to support current and future business requirements. This includes but is not limited to the Azure server infrastructure, physical server environment network and communication infrastructure, as well as endpoint device configuration.
  • Under the direction of the Systems Architect, Infrastructure / Team Lead, leads the implementation of technical projects and initiatives in adherence to established change management protocols and operational standards.
  • Mentors junior team members and provides technical guidance to the team.
  • Maintains IT infrastructure in accordance with the guidance of the cloud provider, software vendor or hardware manufacturer.
  • Ensures configuration documentation pertaining to IT systems and infrastructure are properly documented in accordance with established documentation requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance across all IT functions related to infrastructure components of technology projects, initiatives or in support of issues and incidents.
  • Supports the development and deployment of automations to improve and accelerate maintenance, monitoring and alert functions.
  • Enhances system stability by considering resiliency and backups into new system design, by building redundancy and fault tolerance into existing systems and by applying updates to resolves bugs and security issues in a timely manner.
  • Commits to ongoing professional development to keep up to date with ever evolving technology and ever-changing IT threat landscape.
  • Contributes to continual improvement and innovations of technology systems and technology processes.
  • Active engagement in agile methodologies and practices in agile project teams.
