ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Role Outline/ Responsibilities
We are looking for an engineer experienced in IT system design, development, testing, support, and management to provide a range of IT services for a classified UK network, particularly in the area of building new environments from the ground up and ensuring they are migration ready. Specific responsibilities include:
- Design, Build, Test and Implement a unified communications solution based on Skype For Business
- Design, Build, Test, and Implement a robust email system using Database Availability Groups (DAG) for MS Exchange
- Design, Build, Test, and Implement a security monitoring solution
- Design, Build, Test, and Implement a hardware security solution
- Design, Build, Test, and Implement a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system and integrate it with a smartcard system using MS Identity Manager (MIM)
- Perform Windows Server upgrades to the latest version
- Schedule and deploy Windows Updates and security patches
- Conduct Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) checks
- Manage the data suites within a data centre
- Manage a cloud VM infrastructure (vSphere)
- Troubleshoot operational environment issues
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Customers/sectors: Experience working within the UK MOD
- Experience: At least 4 years’ experience designing, building, implementing, and testing Defence IT systems, having delivered projects or service for MOD.
- Design and deployment experience in Active Directory architectures.
- Designing, Specifying, and engaging with 3rd Party Hardware manufacturers for the procurement of new hardware systems.
