Description:

We are looking for a Senior IT Technician to help scale our support operations in our dynamic distributed workforce. Our team manages the entire workplace IT experience for all Spotify employees globally and provides a seamless and productive environment for both office and remote workers. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to help increase efficiencies, discover and test new solutions to enhance the IT experience at Spotify, and be at the forefront of supporting company-wide IT needs to ensure they are in alignment with our company mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Be responsible for the services and products owned by the Workplace IT using our framework
  • Manage escalated requests (third level IT Support) and give in person and remote support on hardware and software problems to fellow Spotify employees
  • Handle maintenance and administration of i.e Google Workspace, JAMF and centralized user management (LDAP)
  • Develop and continuously improve our support channels
  • Measure performance and present your findings and suggestions for improvement
  • Work closely and motivate changes with other teams to make sure alignment remains and develops on a global scale within the IT Support area
  • Continuously develop the governance of support documentation and guides
  • Suggest, drive and participate in initiatives and projects
  • Collaborate with Spotify IT vendors and partners
  • Assist with tech procurement and financial controls in special cases, and follow up
  • Drive the IT Support scope in office builds and refreshes
  • Mentor junior colleagues within Workplace IT
  • Drive and support the leads with the hiring process of new workplace IT colleagues
  • Build support training materials and conduct training sessions

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience working in the IT Operations/Support environment
  • You have proven experience in supporting macOS and Windows based systems
  • You love to give personal, customer focused support to help people solve technical problems
  • You have in-depth knowledge of client and software deployment
  • You have an understanding of network topologies and protocols
  • You have in depth experience of using Terminal
  • You are fluent in English, in speaking and in writing
  • You are a curious person and a fast learner and enjoy diving into new technologies
  • You are an analytical troubleshooter that suggests and implements improvements
  • You are a great teammate that actively drives collaboration to find solutions to problems
  • You are self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive others to do the same
  • You are dependable, have a sense of urgency and are able to meet multiple deadlines in multiple projects
  • You have superb communication and customer support skills, maintaining and creating a professional demeanor at all levels of the business
  • You are willing and eager to learn and to drive and suggest your development
  • You are flexible and willing to adapt to fast and often occurring changes
