The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Lab Technician to join the Secure Computing Solutions team located in Pleasanton, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Boeing Pleasanton is a part of the Secure Computing Solutions organization within Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS). As a leader in Anti-Tampering Solutions, the Pleasanton site proliferate products across the defense and commercial markets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILL/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience in a laboratory environment and/or electronic test and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of experience with lab tools and general purpose lab equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience working in composites fabrication, soldering, assembly, or autoclave
  • Uses design tools to document and maintain configuration control.
  • Familiar with schematic capture and circuit board layout tools.
  • Experience working with circuit board development, troubleshoot, debug, and repair.
  • Experience with hand-on troubleshooting, debugging, and innovative problem-solving.
  • Experience with designing and building test fixtures, performing lab and bench tests.
  • Prior experience with aviation industry or military defense programs.
  • Experience in production environment.
  • Soldering certification.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years’ related work experience, 8 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and releases electrical/mechanical drawings.
  • Manages, interprets, and develops design, test, and analytical requirements.
  • Coordinates, manages, and leads activities, including lab maintenance and repairs, and personnel training.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional groups, internal partners, and external suppliers to meet work objectives and resolve problems.
  • Performs internal peer reviews and collaborate with colleagues in the team.
  • Participates in design reviews.
  • Validates engineering system design and functionality.
  • Works with hardware and software design engineers to bring-up and debug new board designs.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex laboratory and test-related problems including component level debug of circuit boards.
  • Performs design verification testing and supports post-production activities.
    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
