Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Regulatory Relations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of technology with emphasis on the following: development operations, Agile Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), (including quality assurance, problem and incident management, configuration management, application infrastructure services (e.g. Middleware), platform management, information security architecture, IAM (identity and access management), enterprise architecture, cloud computing, AI, third party hosted solutions, application risk assessments, information management, enterprise data, CRM services, and books and records)
  • Experience with technology related regulatory requirements and frameworks including: FFIEC, COBIT, COSO, NIST, ITIL
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology and information security risk assessment procedures, risk mitigation and/or remediation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing response process for federal regulatory examinations across a broad range of regulatory subject matters and risk types or experience with technology, technology programs, cybersecurity concepts or managing risk over technology.
  • Ability to synthesize trends in examinations across regulatory bodies, throughout the organization, and among peer institutions to provide holistic advice to leadership regarding business risks.
  • Honed verbal and written communication skills with exceptional ability to negotiate and facilitate collaboration at all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive understanding of complex regulatory requirements specific to Technology and/or Cybersecurity concepts
  • Ability to communicate understanding across key stakeholders to drive efficient and concise execution of regulatory engagements

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Regulatory Relations (RR) Specialist in the Enterprise Functions Regulatory Relations Team to serve the Technology and Cybersecurity Organization. The Enterprise Functions Regulatory Relations Team is responsible for leading end-to-end regulatory engagements impacting Enterprise Functions, including, but not limited to, regulatory examinations, supervisory meetings, information requests, and responses to regulatory findings. The Senior Lead Regulatory Relations Specialist will act as primary contact for regulators for information requests and coordinate updates to regulators on remediation activities, as well as provide regulatory interaction support including meeting preparation, meeting facilitation and notes, and follow up actions for Technology and Cybersecurity.
Experienced staff for this role may lead implementation of some strategic initiatives with moderate to high risk and complexity, for Technology, Cybersecurity and their relevant partners in the lines of defense. This role will require routine interaction with key business partners; including senior leaders, operations, control, risk and functional leaders, members of governance committees and the Regulatory Relations team.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence regulatory relations objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex and technical regulatory commitments, engagements, and interactions across multiple groups, functions, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique regulatory relations challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or companywide, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others, ensuring appropriate accountability and interaction with regulators.
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are large-scale cross-functional or include companywide strategic approaches.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers companywide and serve as an expert advisor to leadership, ensuring integrated approach for matters which cross functions or regulatory agencies
  • Lead projects, virtual teams, and serve as a peer mentor to ensure appropriate preparation, accountability, and consistent delivery on regulatory commitments, execution of regulatory relations policy and procedures, or other initiatives.
  • Represent regulatory relations, in concert with Technology and Cybersecurity business partners, before regulatory agencies on policy matters, responses, commitments, needs, and approach in adherence to policy and procedure
  • Research and assess internal and external regulatory environment to identify and report on themes, emerging trends, and risks, sharing insights with team and leadership to resolve concerns.
  • Work with partners to aggregate and report on regulatory actions for key stakeholders including executive leadership, the board of directors, and regulators to ensure consistency with strategy and approach.
  • Provide Technical and Cyber expertise to incident and problem management as it relates to technology and cyber related incidents.
