Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Senior Learning and Development Specialist is a pivotal role within the Seequent People Team (Human Resources department), responsible for driving the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. Reporting directly to the People Programs Manager, the Senior Learning and Development Specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align learning initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Support the People Programs Manager and work closely with People Success team, Total Rewards team, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning strategy that supports organizational goals and addresses employee development needs.
  • Support the design and development of innovative learning programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and cross-functional project experiences.
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences. Ensure the effective delivery of learning content and encourage active participation from participants.
  • Leverage digital tools to deliver, track, and manage learning activities efficiently. Stay informed of emerging learning technologies and trends.
  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Management, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with business priorities. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective learning solutions.

IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • University degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business) with 7+ years of learning and development experience; strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technology trends.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs, including creating both online and in-person programs, that drive employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience with content creation including development of e-learning modules, training, written guides, and other resources aimed to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies.
  • Development of learning and development plans that support the job architecture and career pathways in the organization.
  • Experience in building a skill and competency inventory.
  • Strong understanding of the connection between learning and development initiatives and business success.
  • Proficient facilitation skills and familiarity with learning tools.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills in English; able to take initiative to begin projects and produce high-quality work quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly effective at developing positive working relationships.
