The Department of Film and Television in the School of Arts at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a fractional Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Cinematography with professional experience as Director of Photography, Camera Operator or Lighting Director. The appointee will contribute to the Department of Film and Television’s excellence in the delivery of creative approaches to screen production and practical skill alongside their continued work and success in the screen industry.
The successful candidate will build on and maintain a successful career in the screen industries. To facilitate your ongoing success in the screen industries, this post is offered up to 80% full-time equivalent. However, lower fractions to accommodate a greater share of work in industry alongside this post can be agreed.

As a member of the Department of Film and Television you will be committed to excellence and the role of Higher Education in developing creativity and graduate successes. You will make a distinctive contribution to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in film and television with a focus on cinematography and lighting and scope to contribute to the further development of or educational offer.
You will be outstanding practitioner and a recognised as a leader in the fields of cinematography and lighting in either the television or film. You will have a track record of work of significant critical and commercial success.
At Senior Lecturer level you will also have significant experience in team leadership, collaboration with other creatives and in fostering creative talent. You will draw on outstanding connections and a rich network in the film or television industry and make a significant contribution to our connections and collaborations with the screen industry and the cultural sector more broadly.
The successful candidate will also be a committed, outstanding educator and will contribute to developing our curriculum in film, television and other screen media.
