Description:

We are hiring….

  • Are you an experienced barrister, with the ambition and talent to seize the chance to shape the next generation of barristers?
  • Do you want a rewarding career, in moving from practice to teach on postgraduate professional law programmes, including the BTC, within a University?
  • Are you excited by the opportunity to work in a dynamic, inclusive Law School with an outstanding track record of delivering excellent professionally-focussed legal education?

If so, we would like to hear from you.
Based in one of the UK’s largest legal hubs, in a great global city, Manchester Metropolitan University’s Law School offers outstanding opportunities for experienced barristers to play a fulfilling role in shaping and supporting the next generation of lawyers.
MLS is one of only 10 providers of the Bar Training Expertise. We have a high-quality team, including colleagues with strong connections to practice, work with the BSB and a passionate commitment to delivering outstanding student support and first class professional legal education.
We value professional experience and so potential candidates will include qualified barristers who do not necessarily have teaching experience. We will support you in professional development and in enabling you to obtain a teaching qualification, will help you to shape the future of our educational portfolio.
The role will allow successful candidates to step away from the day-to-day practice while working within a Law School with strong professional connections.
We particularly welcome those with candidates with a Criminal Practice background in this round to play a key role in delivering our BTC. There are also opportunities to contribute to other programmes within the School as required.
This is your chance to make a difference for generations to come and we’d love to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your CV and Covering Letter via our application portal. For informal enquiries, please contact Andrew Francis (Dean of Manchester Law School) on Andrew.Francis@mmu.ac.uk
